Douglas has served as an expert witness, provided valuation and fairness opinions for mergers and acquisitions and testified in Washington on issues related to the proposed changes to the Mining Law of 1872.

As a guest columnist for Mining Engineering magazine, Douglas writes a bimonthly Economics and Finance column. In addition, he speaks many times each year at professional meetings and is a member of many industry organizations, where he also contributes time sitting on committees and assisting in conference programming efforts.
